An introduction to landslide programs
Abstract
Annual losses due to geological hazards are of the order of 100 billion dollars all over the world. Unfortunately, the frequency of landslides is increasing in many hilly regions especially in Himalayan region. It is now realized that the cost/ benefit ratio of landslide control measures is quite high in over-populated hilly regions all over the world.
