Abstract

Recently, marine geotechnical engineers have extensively studied the phenomenon of the wave seabed interaction. To simplify the complicated problem, most previous investigations only considered the quasi-static soil behaviour, ignoring the influence of dynamic soil behaviour. Since the wave pressure action on the surface of the seabed is a dynamic loading, it is necessary to consider the dynamic soil behaviour in the problem of wave-seabed interaction. In this paper, a new analytical solution for the wave-seabed interaction is derived. Numerical results demonstrate the significant effects of dynamic soil behaviour on the wave-induced seabed response.
