Abstract

This, is a twofold comparative report on the already known bryozoan faunas from Galápagos, Juan Fernandez and Easter Island and on the hitherto unpublished new bryozoan data from Sala y Gómez and San Felix islands. Data on the bryozoan diversity of the bryozoan fauna of islands and archipelagos over the Nazca plate in terms of genera and species number are analyzed comparatively showing the proportionally large number of cyclostomate bryozoans. Twenty and 23 species from Sala y Gómez and San Felix respectively are reported for the first time. The presence of the genera Gigantopora and Rhynchozoon in Sala y Gómez and San Felix extends the Indo-pacific Bryozoan fauna component within c . 500 km in front of the south American coast. Four species are described as new in the genera Micropora, Opaeophora, Hippoporina and Gigantopora .
