Abstract

Within this paper Queens University Belfast and Cranfield University of England examine the cost estimating practices of aerospace companies. The aim is to identify practices that can be shared across the UK. To achieve this aim the authors review current cost estimating practice and present two case studies from Belfast and England. The results highlight the lack of standardised, common practices across the UK. Future initiatives are presented that highlight both areas of common interest and suggestions for where future research is needed in order to bridge the gaps.
