A generic model for data, equations and knowledge integration
Abstract
Concurrent engineering needs to share data, behavior models and decision making knowledge. Significant amount of research and commercial efforts have been made that produced a number of languages and systems but none provides full functionality for integration. This paper presents a generic model framework which contains: 1) a conceptual domain model that classifies/organizes domain objects, 2) a meta-model, 3) a model dictionary, and 4) a support environment, which provides a global guidance towards the integration goal.
