Abstract

Today’s global manufacturing company must overcome communication, geographical and cultural barriers in order to increase the co-ordination between distributed engineering activities. This paper describes an approach, which has been undertaken within the cross-bordered company to improve the productivity of multinational product development teams. Several aspects of virtual collaboration, especially data and knowledge sharing are presented and discussed. An architecture of Global Collaborative Environment has been proposed. As an example of system implementation the development process is shortly described.
