Abstract

3D FE dynamic analysis was conducted to study dynamic characteristics of a speed-increase gearbox. The time-variable stiffness curves of meshing gears were established by 3-D contact finite element analysis and profile error-curves determined from computed precision of the gears. Subsequent to the determination of stiffness excitation and error excitation a dynamic model of the speed-increase gearbox was established. Normal frequencies of the whole gearbox, responses of the gearbox and transmission shafts were further analyzed. The analysis was linked to design and development of the gearbox through an internet-based designnetwork platform.
