Abstract

In this communication, subgrain size evolution in the roll gap during hot rolling of commercial purity aluminium alloy is studied by integrating a physical model into two commercial FEM programs: FORGE3 https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> ® v5.3 and FORGE2 https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> ® v2.9.04. The computed through thickness distributions of subgrain size at different sections fit well with laboratory measurements.
