Product development process re-engineering in concurrent engineering
Abstract
This paper analyzes the characteristic of the product development process (PDP) and presents a general methodology for product development process re-engineering (PDPR). The key technologies are overviewed and the Product Development Process Management System (PDPMS) is developed to aid the re-engineering and management of the product development process. According to the characteristic of Concurrent Engineering, some ideas and methods are proposed for PDPR in CE environment, and applied to the project of Concurrent Engineering of Railway Rolling Stocks Product Development.
