Abstract

A new method is proposed in this paper to evaluate the schemes of mass concrete practices whether the thermal cracking occurs or not. The new method is based on the Compensation-Plane (CP) Method developed by a JCI Technical Committee, but it is simplified into a series of manual calculation using values from a table. It is designed to get a cracking index of the mass concrete job without aid of computer. Results in a number of examples show good agreement with the computed exact values.
