Use of ISTforCE concurrent engineering services platform – a case study in conceptual structural design
Abstract
This paper presents a case study of computer-supported conceptual structural design, focusing on the human-centred features of the concurrent engineering services platform developed in the EU ISTforCE project. Special emphasis is given to the increased functionalities offered by the platform from a structural engineer’s end-user perspective. A qualitative estimation at the end of the paper outlines the competitive advantages for structural design consultancies enabled by the ISTforCE approach.
