Knowledge sharing and creating through asynchronous distributed system based on web technology

This paper proposes Four Dimensional Computer Integrated Communications for Constructions (4D-CICC), a visual interactive platform mainly supported by VR and web technology. It supports scattered people to examine optimized schedule with visual information and to make consentaneous opinion for entire project activities asynchronously. 4D-CICC has the visualization function to simulate project information; the optimization function to plan project schedule and a Bulletin Board System (BBS) to gather and exchange information for the team. The requirements of visualization and optimization function will be discussed. At last, a pilot project will be introduced.
