Construction project management: a new concept dedicated to the smalland medium-sized enterprises
Abstract
This paper briefly describes BBeLink2, an Internet-based application for managing construction projects within the SMEs. It is based on the exchange of XML-based messages, which include some meta data related to both the project and the message itself, in order to permit their automatic management. The system also integrates several value-added services, such as a permanent acknowledgement mechanism or a reliable date assignment functionality. Moreover, while it is implemented via a ‘push’ message-based technology, a ‘pull’ mode is emulated for dealing with constant and/or global data relative to the project.
