An information portal for the house building sector in TMAD

Advances in the development and implementation of information and communication technologies are being coupled with new approaches to the organisation and management of the building sector. A information portal for the house building sector in the Portuguese province of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (TMAD) has been created, with the objective of efficiently providing access to relevant information. This information, which will allow the various local and regional organisations to take informed decisions related to their technical, administrative, economic and financial activities, is being gathered and regularly updated by a recently created organisation, the Construction Observatory of TMAD. The Web is used to efficiently provide access to this information, and is expected to play an important role in the information gathering process.
