Settlement due to sheetpile extraction, results of experimental research
Abstract
Removal of sheetpiles may cause damage to adjacent buildings. One of the possible causes of damage is settlement of the subsoil due to vibrating. Until now only a few models are available to predict these settlements. In order to get a better understanding of the phenomena involved in the process of settlement during sheetpile extraction a serie of model tests was performed. The test set-up and the first results of analysing these tests will be presented. The results of these tests will be used in the development of a more sophisticated model to predict the settlement during sheetpile extraction.
