Abstract

The best known, effective and sometimes the single available methods for practical problems solution in many branches are the numerical ones. In given paper the functionality and structure of UWay software package based on Finite Element Method is described briefly. Package is developed in accordance with object-oriented paradigm. Such approach provides an ability to utilize efficiently vector nature of forces and displacements and also tensor nature of stresses and strains. All data used in work is a set of class instances. This fact increases code stability, reduces its volume and enables developers to easily support and enhance their product. In paper the developed class hierarchy and brief description of essential data entities that form the core of FEM will be carried out. As an example of successful solution done with UWay we perform planar consolidation problem of soil protection dam DUNG QUAT in Vietnam. Important solution results in graphical form will be plotted.
