Abstract

The definitions of driven diagram of driven piles, load-transfer curve, curve of loads on piles, and the importance of these curves are emphasized. Driven diagrams can be obtained for all piles. Some of them can be monitored and the curve of loads on the pile can be obtained directly. However, these monitoring is expensive and time consuming, and usually is not made for small or common works. Apart from this the extrapolation of results of one pile to all the piles of the same work does not take into account the eventual small local geological differences. In this paper the idea to use the driven diagrams of all driven piles calibrated by some DLT-SM tests is presented. The use of N i (accumulated value of blows) seems convenient and two relationships between F ei and N i can be used.
