The advantages of concrete filled steel tubes (CFST) applied in residential buildings
Abstract
The residential building is the focal point for popularization of residential steel structures in the tenth five years plan in China. In this paper, the advantages of CFST columns applied in residential buildings are introduced, including economization of steel and the decreased the construction cost. Its cost is cheaper than that of steel structures, and even cheaper than that of ordinary RC structures. The seismic resistant character of it is excellent.
