Abstract

This paper presents the results of six tests on 140–160 MPa reactive powder concrete (RPC) panels. The panels were designed to test the ability of RPC to resist bursting stresses as occurs in the anchorage zones of prestressed concrete bridge girders. The test variables were the boundary details, type of steel fibres and fibre quantity. The tests showed that the quantity of steel fibres did not significantly affect the initial cracking load but did have an influence on the rate of crack growth and crack width. The location of the bursting crack was significantly influenced by the support details.
