Abstract

Most lubricating oils, greases and hydraulic fluids are currently obtained from distillation of crude petroleum. However due to growing environmental awareness and (the prospect of) stringent regulations regarding the use of petroleum products the manufacture and use of the so-called ‘biolubricants’, has began to gain importance.
