Abstract

In an atmosphere of high competitiveness, the news of companies that have closed down their doors can raise questions concerning their inefficacies in the development of strategies that allowed them a broader forecast in the decisions taken towards the premonition of the economical scenery. However, some of the companies that have given their own manager’s formation do not even know, at least formally, neither the strategies that could be adopted nor the planning type that could make possible such strategies. Even so, some of those companies remain in the business. This way, unlikely what can be imagined, the non declaration of a formal strategy, does not necessarily mean that the company is smuggled of the competitive atmosphere, nor that it is not capable of becoming a market leader. It is starting from this verification that the article, through a Model of Strategic Positioning – MOPE, tries to identify the variables that characterize the structured and the non-structured strategies. Therefore in explicit or implicit way, it is possible, with the Model application, to do an association among the actions strategically drifted and the actions of the existing competition acquired by means of perception or intuition.
