Abstract

To improve the usefulness of GIS as a decision support tool, two needs are apparent, i.e. (a) methods allows decision-makers to easily select alternatives most closely aligned with their priorities across a number of relevant criteria and (b) recognition of multiple participants in most decision-making processes. Based on these requirements, a framework of spatial decision-support system is designed for traffic analysis and management. Three kinds of decision functions are provided, i.e. best path analysis, least transport expenditure analysis and break-down alarm analysis.
