Selection and design of mine supports at great depth
Abstract
Modern trends in selection, analysis and design of rock excavation supports which the authors regard as promising are briefly reviewed with a certain emphasis on great depth as a significant factor influencing deformation of surrounding rocks in the course of excavation, A number of considerations are expressed on application of numerical methods and mathematical models to support design.
