Use of photomechanical and combined modelling to investigate the supports of mine workings at great depth
Abstract
Analysis of the existing methods for improving the stability of the permanent workings with depth of mining is given. The proposed method for supporting the mine workings at great depth seems to be promising. The new methods and testing technique for experimental investigations, in particular, on photomechanical and combined models are proposed. Some examples of the simulated testing are given, The use of photomechanical methods offers an advantage for good practice to investigate and recommend the designing of the supports to be installed in mine workings at great depth.
