Geomechanical data bank for design purposes of coal mining process

The paper presents the integrated production complex “Geotechnology”. This complex incorporates the design-automation system, industrial process control system, monitoring system and data banks of mine observations as well. The complex is designed for improving the efficiency and reliability of decisoon-making in the supporting of mine workings, in prevention the hazard of dynamic phenomena manifestations and in protection of engineer constructions and natural objects from harmful influence of actual mining operations. The peculiarity of the complex is in the use of the methods for timely corrections introduced in the decisions, using the data obtained in simple short-time observations in mines. An example is given, showing how the automated system “Nedra” is used for designing the supports of permanent workings in coal mines in the USSR.
