Dissolution of salt and influence of dissolution to the town of Tuzla

Exploitation of the salt deposit of Tuzla is performed through pumping of the saline ground water. The uncontrolled dissolution of this deposit provokes the uncontrolled settlement of the ground surface at the location of the old town of Tuzla. Uhtil the present time, the town’s center has settled for more than 13 m. Geological and hydrogeological properties of the salt deposit and the method of repairing significant historical monuments in the zone of great settlements are presented in this paper. Le gisement salifère de Tuzla est exploité par pompage de l’eau souterraine salée. Le procédé incontrôlé de dissolution provoque le tassement anormal de la surface du terrain sur lequel la vieille ville de Tuzla est située. Jusqu’à présent, le centre- ville de Tuzla a subi le tassement de plus de 13 m. l’article décrit les propriétés géologiques et hydrogéologiques du gisement salifère et la manière de réparation des bátiments historiques importants situés dans la zone des grands tassements.
