Keynote lecture: Some notes on the role of engineering geology in the design process of land and marine hydraulic structures

Engineering geology expertise is not used efficiently in the complex design process of land and marine structures. For the solution of many problems connected to the design of foundations co-operation between civil engineers and geologists is of essential importance in order to obtain more certainty regarding uncertainties in the foundation soil.
