Convenor's introduction
Abstract
It is my privilege this afternoon to invite you to this, the most probable session of all this week. I note that for some reason or other, a session on probability was not held at the Ghana conference. All the contributors that we’ve been able to get this afternoon will concentrate on the practical aspects of how they have applied probabilities and how they’ve used it, rather than repeating theoretical concepts of probability that we have heard so often.
