Johannesburg Geotechnical Data Bank
Abstract
In contrast to the doubts expressed at the Conference as to the usefulness of the National Data Bank for Roads, and the small use made of the Bank, the Johannesburg Geotechnical Data Bank is alive and well. It is used mainly by the City Engineer’s Department, but also by other Departments of the Municipality, by various Consulting Engineers and Consulting Engineering Geologists, Universities, and the general public.
