Abstract
What in Mr Wates’ opinion is the validity of the results of sieving tests with ballotini balls through a filter fabric? During construction the fabric is generally pulled and twisted so that it is under completely different tensile stresses, so that surely the orientation of the fibres of the fabric is completely different from when it is tested in the laboratory?
