Abstract

Sampling for soil-structure measurements may involve removal of samples from a soil profile to be analysed in the laboratory, or placement of in situ equipment at a selected location in the landscape and within the soil. Sampling involves therefore different aspects that cover the selection of: (1) the method to be used; (2) sample dimensions where applicable; (3) sampling locations inside the soil profile; (4) the number of replicates; (5) sampling locations in the field and (6) time of sampling.
