Use of Geostokos and Planner for daily production
Abstract
At Les Mines Selbaie, located in northwetern Quebec, the mining of the complex A-l zone’s orebody is done using geostatistics. Two main software packages treating the assay values coming from the samples collected from the blastholes are Geostokos and a local kriging program. On the engineering side, the scheduling aspect of the pit is taken care of by another software package called the Planner. The time saved resulting from the use of these computer programs gives more time to examine other alternatives which will result in a maximization of the revenues.
