Abstract

At Sudbury Operations major emphasis is being placed on economic analysis and determination of stope, mine, project and Integrated Nickel Operations cashflows. It is essential that programs be available for Mine Engineers to use to produce the necessary information. The programs must be valid in their logic, consistent in their terminology, clearly documented for user application and maintained up-to-date. It is vital that consistent input data, such as metal prices, downstream treatment costs, exchange rates and inflation factors, are used by all to ensure that results are valid. This paper describes three programs, namely PROECO, PEP and SUDSIM that form the base for Sudbury evaluations.
