Abstract

Considerable progress has been made in utilising interactive graphics in geological modelling and mine layout, but mine scheduling and production scheduling has typically been treated as a “spreadsheet” exercise, rather than a graphical exercise. Mincom’s MINESTAR system utilises the interactive graphics capabilities of workstations to provide the mining engineer with an extra dimension in addressing mine scheduling challenges. MINESTAR has been used on a range of mines - coal and metalliferous; open pit and underground.
