Uncoupled and coupled analysis of a large HDR pipe
Abstract
Large scale piping experiments have been carried out recently in Germany at the HDR test facility. The aim of the experiments is to investigate the closing behaviour of a feedwater check valve and the fluid dynamics in its respective pipeline as a result of a simulated break în the pipeline and ensuing rapid closure of the check valve. In connection with these fluiddynamic investigations the structural dynamic behaviour of the piping system, when subjected to fluid forces, was measured.
