Use of 3D eddy-current code for optimizing an NDT probe
Abstract
We report the use of a three dimensional eddy-current code, Trifou, in the optimization stage of a probe for controlling the tubes of the steam generators for the PWR reactors. We put the emphasis on how such a code has to be employed to be efficient at a reasonable cost. After a short description of the code and of the probe, we discuss what kind of calculations has to be done and we present some results, in particular eddycurrents distributions for different values of some parameters of the probe.
