Abstract

A concept is described for qualification of dissimilar welds (ferritic/austenitic steels) for HTR 500 application. The procedure consists out of a combination of experiments on specimens and calculations in order to provide the basis for an inelastic analysis and a fracture mechanics concept. A long term component experiment, called MINERVA, has started in order to verify the concept chosen.
