Abstract

For da/dt-tests under various environmental conditions e.g. high temperature water and/or neutron irradiation,a double-wedge-loaded specimen has been developed and tested successfully. The main advantages are the compact shape and size, the exact measurement of the pre-load and the possibility to measure the load after the test period. Tests at temperatures up to 300 0 C in air, in water, and in neutron fields over several thousend hours have been carried out up to now, without difficulties.
