Approach to LMFBR floor response reduction — Partially embedded building
Abstract
A structure planning in the seismic design of LMFBR with the objective to reduce the mechanical equipment response is really a subject of the utmost concern1). With a main vessel of pool-type LMFBR in particular, because it is of a large size and thin wall, it is necessary to carry out various studies before ensuring the feasibility of the design under the severe seismic conditions in Japan.
