Abstract

This paper reviews the seismic design considerations for the PRISM (Power Reactor Inherently Safe Module) pool-type liquid metal reactor (LMR). PRISM is a compact modular reactor of a size corresponding to about 135 MWe. It can be installed in standardized multiple blocks to provide a range of power plant sizes Tippets et al. (1986).
