Evaluations of degraded large snubbers for steam generator supports
Abstract
Each unit of a two unit plant contains a four loop reactor system. ( Figure 1 ) Each loop contains a steam generator and a reactor coolant pump. The steam generators are supported by upper and lower supports. The lower support provides vertical restraint and horizontal restraint by means of structural ties and the hot leg of the reactor coolant system. The upper support at the operating deck provides horizontal support by means of four snubbers for each steam generator, ( Figure 2 ).
