Abstract

In a dynamic response analysis of massive and rigid structures deeply embedded in soil, it is a major concern to evaluate accurately the dynamic soil-structure interaction (SSI) effect. This effect is widely understood both as a variation of the input motion to the embedded structure and as the dynamic constraint of the surrounding soil.
