Abstract

Measurement was made of a traffic-induced vibrations at a historical monument site in Thailand. By studying the vertical and horizontal components of the ground motion, it was found that P wave forms the predominant component of the vibration. Although this ground motion looks harmlessly small, it probably accelerates the collapse of the monument, when it continues for a long time.
