SUMSTAB - A computer software for generalized stability analysis of zoned dams
Abstract
The study pertains to the application of sequential unconstrained minimization technique in conjunction with Janbu’s generalized procedure of slices as a tool for autosearch of the critical slip surface and evaluation of the corresponding minimum factor of safety for zoned dams with geologic discontinuities in the foundation. Successful application of the developed computer software (SUMSTAB) has been demonstrated in the paper.
