BE-BEM and IFE-BEM: Two models for unbounded problems in geomechanics
Abstract
By coupling infinite elements and beam elements a new model for the analysis of underground openings is presented. It is compared to the coupled beam-boundary element model. The field of application of these models are unbounded problems in geomechanics, where the rock behavior can be described by the theory of elasticity.
