Analysis of concrete dam-rock base interaction by numerical methods
Abstract
The paper presents materials of investigations made for design solutions substantiation of a series of dams. It is shown that the methods of finite elements allows to take into account the features of rock masses: heterogeneity, jointing, anisotropy, complex interaction of various physi-cal-mechanical processes, when analysing concrete dams - rock bases interaction. Close links between geologic, geomechanic and analytic aspects of the problem are emphasized. The effect of the methods of schematization and solving problems on the final result is also under study.
