Full-scale investigations on the stability of concrete block slope revetments
Abstract
This paper deals with full-scale stability tests on placed concrete blocks which are often used to construct permeable dyke revetments. Several structural solutions, especially with granular and geotextile filter layers were investigated. Stability numbers are reported with respect to breaker characteristics. Wave pressures acting on a testblock were analysed in order to explain failure occurrence physically. The wave tests were carried out in the new LARGE WAVE CHANNEL in Hannover, Germany.
