Three-dimensional stress analysis of time-dependent interaction of tunnel rock with its support in rapid excavation project
Abstract
A detailed three-dimensional stress analysis of the problem concerning the interaction of a circular tunnel with its support has been made, both the tunnel rock and the material of the support being taken as linearly viscoelastic bodies. The solution of the viscoelastic problem is obtained through the reduced elastic problem by using the Laplace transformation and the correspondence principle in the theory of linear viscoelastitcity. A numerical example is given and the results are presented in two graphs.
