A new concept in water jet assisted drag tool cutting of rocks
Abstract
The water jet, through its penetration, has different effects on four tool force functions. The optimum jet penetration and the associated maximum tool force reduction represents the best compromise between the reduction and increase of individual force components. Jet penetration was found to be the key jet parameter to characterize jet assistance in hybrid cutting.
