Abstract

The Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Co intends to establish a Bedrock Laboratory. Among other preinvestigations, a fracture mapping program has been carried out. The principal aim was to produce results for subseguent geohydrological and rock mechanical model studies. Indirect observations indicate that the rock stress history and the fracture set data are correlated to each other. A characterization of such a correlation would be very useful when describing the groundwater flow and pressure in the bedrock fracture system.
